Welcome to The Poet and the Watchman Ministry who make poetic declarations through our love one for another, gifting and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Originally defined as the poet writes what the watchman sees. Under the About Us section a friend of ours gave us the description that best fits what we do.
The word poet means: A poet is a person who writes poetry. A person who has the gift of poetic thought, imagination, and creation, together with eloquence of expression. Poets have existed since antiquity, in nearly all languages, and have produced works that vary greatly in different cultures and time periods.
The word watchman means: to designate a sentinel on the city walls or on the hilltops and the Song of Solomon introduces another class, "the watchmen that go about the city," and thus, it would seem, points to some system of municipal police or justice. David and I write poetic declarations hoping to change the mind, heart, lives, atmosphere and world we live in through the power of the Holy Spirit with God’s Word as our Standard.
We recognize that God is calling us to unite as a poet and a watchman to bring poetic thought, creativity and eloquence with those who man the spiritual streets and walls of our cities and nations to touch every aspect of our society and culture today through our love for one another and these declarations given through visions, dreams, prayers, creativity and through meditation on God’s Word.
We desire to be a catalyst and resource for poets and watchmen that bring creativity, cooperation, inspiration, love, hope, vigilance and prophetic insight to another level for the Glory of God in our lives and the world we live in.
